Budlogs (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a brand of Voceway Group Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application (“App”).

By using Budlogs, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Important: On-Device Processing Only

According to Apple’s App Store privacy definitions, Budlogs does NOT “collect” any data.

Apple defines “collect” as transmitting data off the device in a way that allows access for longer than real-time request servicing. Since Budlogs processes and stores all data exclusively on your device and never transmits data to external servers, we do not “collect” data under Apple’s definition.

Information Processed On Your Device

All data entered into Budlogs is processed and stored only on your device:

Data You Enter

  • Budget Information: Budget amounts, spending entries, and period settings (daily, weekly, or monthly)
  • Country Selection: Your selected country code for currency formatting
  • App Preferences: Settings such as decimal display preferences

How Data is Stored

  • Local Storage: All data is stored locally using iOS App Groups (shared between app and widgets)
  • No Transmission: Data is never transmitted off your device
  • No Cloud Storage: We do not use any cloud storage services
  • No External Servers: No data is sent to any external servers or third-party services

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Analytics or tracking data
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data
  • Device identifiers
  • Any data transmitted off your device

How Your Data is Used

All data you enter is processed exclusively on your device for app functionality:

  • Budget Tracking: To calculate and display your remaining budget
  • Spending History: To maintain a log of your spending entries
  • Period Management: To automatically reset your budget based on your selected frequency
  • Widget Display: To show your budget information in iOS widgets (data shared via App Groups, still on-device)

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Only

All your budget data is stored locally on your device using:

  • iOS App Groups for secure data sharing between the app and widget extensions
  • Encrypted file storage with iOS file protection
  • No cloud storage or external servers

Data Security

  • All data is encrypted using iOS’s built-in file protection mechanisms
  • Data is only accessible by the Budlogs app and its extensions
  • No third-party services have access to your data

Receipt Scanning (Premium Feature)

If you use the receipt scanning feature:

  • On-Device Processing: Receipt images are processed entirely on your device using on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
  • No Image Storage: Images are processed in real-time and are not stored after processing
  • No Data Transmission: Receipt images are never transmitted off your device
  • No Third-Party Services: No external OCR services or APIs are used
  • Privacy: All image processing occurs locally and is never accessible to us or any third parties

Subscription Information

  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed by Apple, not by us
  • Subscription Verification:Subscription status is verified locally using Apple’s StoreKit framework
  • No Payment Information: We do not have access to your payment information, billing address, or any payment-related data
  • Apple’s Data Collection: Apple may collect data related to your subscription purchase. For information about how Apple handles this data, please review Apple’s Privacy Policy
  • Our Access: We only receive a boolean status (premium or not) through StoreKit, which is processed locally on your device

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to:

  • Third-party analytics services
  • Advertising networks
  • Data brokers
  • Cloud storage services
  • Any external servers or services
  • Any third-party partners or SDKs

No Third-Party Code: Budlogs does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks that would collect data.

Your data remains on your device and is only accessible by the Budlogs app and its widget extensions (via iOS App Groups, still on-device).

Data Deletion

Automatic Deletion

  • App Deletion: If you delete the Budlogs app from your device, all associated data is permanently deleted
  • Data Reset: You can reset all data at any time through the Settings screen

Data Recovery

  • No Backup: Budlogs does not create cloud backups of your data
  • No Recovery: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered
  • iCloud Backup: If you have iCloud Backup enabled for your device, your app data may be included in device backups (managed by Apple, not by us)

Children’s Privacy

Budlogs is not intended for children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers, no personal data from any user — including children — is ever accessible to us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
  • Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
  • For significant changes, we may provide additional notice through the App Store listing

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access:View all data stored by the app (accessible through the app’s interface)
  • Delete: Delete all data at any time through the Settings screen
  • Control: Manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings

App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels

In App Store Connect, Budlogs’s Privacy Nutrition Label will show:

  • No Data Collected: Since all data is processed on-device and never transmitted off the device, no data types are disclosed in the Privacy Nutrition Label
  • No Tracking: We do not track users across apps or websites
  • No Third-Party Data Sharing: We do not share data with any third parties

This aligns with Apple’s guidance that “data that is processed only on device is not ‘collected’ and does not need to be disclosed.”

Apple’s Data Collection

While Budlogs does not collect data, Apple may collect certain information when you:

  • Download the app from the App Store
  • Make in-app purchases
  • Use Apple services
